What is Yoga?
Yoga is ancient and time proven science of mind – body health. Yoga originated in India 5000 years ago. It came to US and the West in the 60s and became popular and main stream in the 80s and 90s. Yoga creates strength, awareness and harmony in both mind and body. The first yoga text appeared around 2000 BC by Patanjali and teaches the following to "eight limbs" (the "Ashtanga Yoga") to quite the mind and connect with the divine.
Yoga is the practice of connecting breath and mind with the physical movement. A yoga class typically consists of some breathing exercises, asanas (poses) and relaxation/meditation.
What are some of the benefits of Yoga Classes?
Some of the physical benefits of yoga are:
Improved flexibility and posture; Improves balance, releases tensions in the limbs; Increases muscle strength and tone; Improves athletic performance and protection from injury.
Some of the mental benefits of yoga are:
Builds awareness for transformation; Yoga’s incorporation of breathing and meditation helps mental well being; Relaxes the mind, centers attention and sharpens concentration.
What types of Yoga Classes are offered?
There are lots of different styles of yoga classes available so anybody can start at any time. Whether you are an athlete or not physically active there are always modifications to the poses so size and fitness level does not matter. Yoga lets you explore the limits of your mind and body. It is not about finding a perfect pretzel like pose. It is a great way to get in tune with your body and inner self.
Traditional Hatha Yoga combines, moral disciplines, physical exercises (i.e., postures and breath control), and meditation, and goes beyond the mere physical aspects of yoga practice. Hatha Yoga was invented to provide a form of physical purification and training on the journey to enlightenment. There are many other health benefits provided by practicing Hatha yoga in addition to its use as a path to enlightenment.
How much are Yoga Classes?
Yoga classes are $15.00 per class. Pricing varies for special events and workshops.

Class Instructions and Schedule
Space is limited for our indoor yoga classes, and participants are required to register to reserve their spot in each class. You can reserve your spot online using the link in the schedule found below, or by calling us at (954)900-1535.
Please arrive at least 10 min minutes before the start time of the class so you can sign in and pay if you have not done so online. All participants are required to complete a waiver and release before participating in any classes offered at Advanced Healing Wellness Center.
